The Most sought after activity and most thrilling and humbling experience in East Africa is gorilla tracking or gorilla trekking. Mountain Gorillas are some of the most awesome and great primates in the world, with only a few left half of which are hosted in Uganda in their natural habitats of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Gorilla Tracking / Gorilla Trekking is not an ordinary thing to do, as you get a one hour chance to stand close to the magnificent Gorillas that resemble human beings both in intelligence and behavior. These great primates have emotions, they love, hate, care, and express their happiness to each other. You will be amazed to watch these gorillas live happily with their family members, love and care for each other, see how baby gorillas play with the each other and swinging on the tree branches, not different from the way we humans behave and feel.
We organize gorilla tracking safaris all year round, although the best months for gorilla tracking are June - September, November - March. We design customized and private gorilla trekking / gorilla tracking trips that suit client’s specific interests on when, how and what to do. We have various gorilla itineraries available to our clients depending on the days, and activities as listed below.
Chimpanzee tracking: Next to Gorilla tracking is Chimpanzee tracking. Chimpanzees are smaller in size compared to gorillas but with great much brain power, they are the closest to human beings often referred to as the man’s cousins. In their natural habitat, Chimpanzee tracking is very vibrant as you will hardly see them in one place; rather they try to impress their visitors by jumping from tree to tree in excitement. You will notice that Chimpanzees equally have emotions, will watch them care for their younger and loved ones, play with each, it’s such an experience.
Chimpanzee Habituation Experience: More rewarding than chimpanzee tracking as you get to spend the whole day with the chimpanzees. Done Budongo Forest & Kibale Forest National Park, you get a chance to observe the chimpanzees from the time they wake up from their nests, to the time they go to rest, you can imagine the experience.
Chimpanzee Tracking is done in Kibale Forest National Park, Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, in Budogo Forest in Murchison Falls National Park.

MOUNT RWENZORI ‘Mountains of the Moon’
The Rwenzori Mountains National Park covers nearly 100,000 ha in western Uganda and comprises the main part of the Rwenzori mountain chain, which includes Africa's third highest peak (Mount Margherita: 5,109 m). The Rwenzoris are the legendary “Mountains of the moon”. The region's glaciers, waterfalls and lakes make it one of Africa's most beautiful alpine areas. The park has many natural habitats of endangered species and a rich and unusual flora comprising, among other species, the giant heather. There are different hiking trails including:
The Central Circuit Trail: This challenging, seven-day climb provides a circular tour of the high Rwenzori. From the trailhead at Mihunga, the route ascends the Bujuku Valley via Nyabitaba for acclimatization before reaching the peaks. Clients joining the Central Circuit after Bujuku will traverse the Scott Elliot and Freshfield passes to descend through the Mubuku Valley. Climbers can scale the snow peaks though many consider the exceptional scenery ample reward for their exertions.
Kilembe Trail: The recently reopened Kilembe Trail ascends the southern slopes of the Rwenzori from a trailhead at Kilembe near the town of Kasese. The route along the lovely Nyamwamba Valley passes glacial lakes and some stunning viewpoints before joining the Central Circuit at Lake Kitandara. The standard route scales Mount Baker though the scenery makes shorter treks rewarding enough.
MOUNT ELGON
Mountain Elgon is the forth highest mountain in East Africa, found in the Eastern part of Uganda. It is easier to access throughout the year, less congested, with a milder climate and lower elevation. Climbing the peaks requires no special equipment or technical experience. There are different hiking trails including:
The Sasa trail is the shortest but toughest route to the peaks, takes four days and starts at Budadiri town at an elevation of 1,250m. The Sipi trail (four to six days, 56km round trip) starts at 2,050m at the Kapkwai Forest Exploration Centre. It is the longest trail to the peaks. The trail begins gently, but becomes tougher on the third day from Kajeri Camp. The Piswa trail (seven days, 49km round trip) is long and the most gentle trail. Starting at the village of Kapkwata on the north side of the mountain. It’s notable for its rich wildlife and spectacular views of the Karamoja plains in Uganda and the Nandi and Kapeguria hills in Kenya. The Piswa trail also passes the hot springs on the way to the caldera and the peaks.
Mount Elgon’s highest slopes are shared with an adjacent national park in Kenya and a transboundary hike can be arranged.
We arrange 1 Day and half day trips to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sancutary, Entebbe, Kampala and Jinja. We also cater for clients who do not have much time to do a safari to the Nationals around Uganda, thus we organize 2 Days short trips go to Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, Lake Mburo, Kibale Forest & Mt Elgon National Parks.
